A tree at Rankin Wildlife Management Area near Newport, Tn. last Sunday. This tree is for the most part, dead, and the road from which I took this photo is usually underwater, at the bottom of Douglas Lake. Could this be why some folks refer to this place as Rankin 'Bottoms'?

Found a nice little mill today tucked away in the hills near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Blowing Cave Mill, on Blowing Cave Rd. in Sevier County, Tn.
