"Super Saturday"

Had a really great day today! So much to do but so little time to do it. To start off our day .....

..... we did the Iris Festival .....

in Greeneville, Tn.

Then we rode to  the Island, in Pigeon Forge, Tn.

And had lunch at Timberwood Grill.

Then, while still in Pigeon Forge, we went to Dollywood.

Next we rode to Gatlinburg, Tn. and went thru Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

And on our way home, we stopped in and listened to "Steeldriver" at Sevierville's "Bloomin' Barbeque & Bluegrass Festival in Sevierville, Tn.

"Eastern Screech Owl"

The neighborhoods newest resident! With a little help from a photographer friend I can now identify this little fella. He is a Grey Morph Eastern Screech Owl. I'm quite sure he is looking over a nest as I have heard another one but only seen this one so far. He does not scare, he just sits there and looks around, literally. Ever saw an owl do a 180°? This is one cool bird! Across the street, in Bristol, Va. Will mention no names, but thanks for the help with identifying this bird. You know who you are!

"Still Hanging Around"

My little Screech Owl buddy is still hanging around out front. I heard him this morning as I was leaving for work and then when I came in for the evening, there he was. He's so cool and he don't scare easy. (Actually, at all). Both nights I've seen him I've spent about 30-40 minutes taking pics using flash and he just sits there and coos and poses.
