Went on a hot air balloon chase today. What better way to end an already great day!

Here is tonight's shot of the Hunters' Moon! I know it is a day past the full stage, but I had a little trouble getting through the clouds last night. Tonight played out a lot better!

A flaming sky lighting up Upper East Tennessee this evening as seen from Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tn.

Not sure what this building once was but looks like it was a store of some sort. Sitting by the railroad tracks off Wallace Pike in the Wallace Community in Washington County, Va., near Bristol.

"Rose Mountain"

A really cool reconstructed homesite I found on a secluded, privately owned mountain top in Claiborne Co., Tn. this past weekend.

"St. John Milling Co."

St. John Milling Company, Tennessee's longest running business opened in 1778 and ran continuously for 233 years. The company was always owned and managed by a direct descendent of the original owner, Jeremiah Dungan. At it's closing on April 30, 2011, the mill had been run for the last 40 years by Ron Dawson. Built on Brush Creek and powered by a 16 foot water wheel the mill was converted to electricity in the 1930's. Located in Watauga, Tn. between Johnson City and Elizabethton a string of tornadoes ripped through East Tennessee on April 27, 2011 and damaged this mill. Not sure if this had anything to do with the closing but probably so. However, this is a recent picture taken in October, 2013.
