"EMU"

This Emu, native to Australia has somehow made its way into East Tennessee. Just off Hwy. 126 near Blountville, Tn.

Almost a repeat of a picture I posted on March 25 of this year but this one is a totally different shot with some settings tweaked and a boulder in the foreground.

"End of a New Day"

I am thankful for the good day I have just had. God has been here for me and it is all good. It is his finger on the trigger for this shot cause this is nothing near what I was seeing when I took it. 

"Flying High"

I'm not saying what kind of bird this is for fear of being wrong but I know what I think it is. No matter, he is free and flying high, near Steeles Rd. in Bristol, Tn.

"Blue Heron"

Another "Blue Heron" shot and this one is from the opposite side of the river. I spotted him up close but couldn't get a shot for the trees so I spooked him and he flew to the other side. South Holston River just a few miles below South Holston Dam in Sullivan County, Tn.

"Lizard Head"

The more I look at this tree root the more I start to see a lizard head! Any body with me on this one? My wife Audrey spotted this near Backbone Rock Recreation Area in Johnson County, Tn.

"Face to Face"

A face to face encounter with one of these will leave you in awe with nothing but respect for a black bear.

This meet up was in October 2012 on a ridge just off Hyatt Lane in Cades Cove, in the Great Smoky Mtns. National Park. I am thankful he had been foraging all morning and was most likely just looking for somewhere to lay down and take a nap or I might have been breakfast.
